How to Host a Fall Dinner Party - Pacific Natural Inspired
Posted by Chloe Lappen on
With the first signs of fall, we invited a few girlfriends for a dinner party. We were inspired by the crisp air, fall scenery, and a few recipes from Jenni Kayne's Pacific Natural book.
As always, we wanted to keep the table natural and simple but seasonal as well. We started with a natural linen tablecloth accented with mustard linen napkins.
Hydrangeas and autumn grasses were abundant in the garden, so we created two arrangements in glass vases to anchor our maple candle holders. Adding lots of candlelit to the table gave it the perfect warm glow for the fall evening.
When the guests arrived, there was Spiced Cider (Pacific Natural) simmering on the stove. The clove, cinnamon and star anise filled the house and it was a warm welcome for the rainy evening. The cider was served in a thick, ceramic tumbler with a thinly sliced piece of apple and a cinnamon stick.
Personal sized Pumpkin Bread (Pacific Natural) sat on each plate wrapped in kraft paper to accompany the Curried Butternut Squash Soup (Pacific Natural) that had been made earlier in the day so we weren't busy cooking when guests arrived.
The Brussels Sprouts (Pacific Natural) were tossed in lemon and herbs and placed in a serving bowl by W/R/F and served family style.
